Glossary

Accepted A/R Status: Proposed owner has agreed to perform the A/R.
Anyone Any person regardless of whether logged-in to or blocked from an A/R Tracker™ system.
AR, A/R (Action Request) an item of work that a requestor asks an owner to perform for a customer.
Blocked Person whose email address is included in a filter and is therefore not allowed to use some features of an A/R Tracker™ system.
Cancelled A/R Status: Requestor removes a requested A/R before proposed owner replies to the A/R.
Closed A/R Status: Customer agrees that the A/R completed by owner is finished.
Closed list A/R list that requires a user to be a member to perform some functions.
Completed A/R Status: Owner has finished the A/R; needs customer to agree and close the A/R.
Create To make a new A/R, list, or user.
Customer User for whom an A/R is to be performed (the requestor, by default).
Declined A/R Status: Proposed owner will not perform the A/R.
Default Value used for a field unless a user provides a value.
Deferred A/R Status: Proposed owner neither accepts nor declines the A/R (and presumably will decide which to do later).
Field Item of data provided by the user from a web page.
Filter Series of email addresses that are blocked from using some features of an A/R Tracker™ system.
Guest User who has not logged-in and therefore has limited privileges.
List Collection of A/Rs with something in common (such as A/Rs for people on a given team). An A/R can belong to multiple lists. Members of a list receive information about A/Rs on that list.
ListAdmin User who manages an A/R list (by default, user who created the list).
Logged-in User who has signed on to an A/R Tracker™ system (and has provided the correct password if one is set). Allows use of any privileges associated with that user.
Manager User who has subordinate employees.
Member User who has signed up for a given A/R list.
Notification Memo emailed to designated users.
Open A/R Informal term for an A/R that has been accepted, but not yet closed.
Open list A/R list that does not require a user to be a member to perform some functions.
Owner User who is asked to perform an A/R.
Parameter Data value provided to a web page as part of a URL.
Privileges Restricted actions allowed to a logged-in user.
Proxy User who has been granted A/R update rights by the owner.
Record Series of fields for one entity (such as an A/R, a user, or a list) stored in a database table.
Reply To respond to an A/R for which you are the proposed owner, by accepting, declining, or deferring your decision.
Report List or tabular presentation of requested data; can be emailed to designated users.
Requested A/R Status: Submitted by requestor, but proposed owner has not replied to the A/R.
Requestor User who requests that a proposed owner perform an A/R for a customer.
Server Computer system on which an A/R Tracker™ system can be installed.
Status Whether an A/R is currently: requested, accepted, declined, deferred, transferred, completed, or closed.
SuperAdmin (Super Administrator) User who manages an A/R Tracker™ system on a server.
Transferred A/R  Status: Owner can no longer perform this A/R, but has proposed a new owner who has not yet replied.
Update To change information about an A/R, list, or user.
URL (Universal Resource Locator) address of a web page.
User Person who has been entered into an A/R Tracker™ system as any one or more of: customer, guest, ListAdmin, manager, member, owner, proxy, requestor, submittor, or SuperAdmin.
